Temporomandibular joint disorder (TMJ)
At our dental office, we are proud to offer comprehensive treatment for TMJ (temporomandibular joint) disorders. TMJ disorders are a group of conditions that affect the jaw joint and the muscles that control jaw movement, causing symptoms such as pain, clicking, and popping in the jaw.
Our team is trained to diagnose and treat TMJ disorders using Splint therapy and other techniques such as Botox or Myofascial release.
Splint therapy involves the use of a custom-made oral appliance that is worn during sleep to reposition the jaw and alleviate stress on the temporomandibular joint. Physical therapy can also help to alleviate pain and improve jaw function.
We take a multidisciplinary approach to TMJ treatment, working closely with other specialists such as physical therapists, neurologists and rheumatologists to ensure that our patients receive the most comprehensive care possible.
If you're experiencing symptoms of TMJ disorder, such as jaw pain, headaches, or difficulty opening or closing your jaw, we invite you to schedule a consultation with us today.
